Search View

The Search View allows to search the keywords in the box. The keyword to be searched for is entered in the search field in the upper right corner. Multiple keywords can be separated by comma.

There are three options for the search:

  1. Choosing the "OR" option means that the slip must contain at least one of the keywords. Logically, this is an OR connector (a disjunction). If the "OR" button is off all keywords must occur on the slip. Logically, this is an AND connector (a conjunction).
  2. The "prefix" option determines whether the search term must occur at the be beginning of the word (the term "slipbox" would be found by searching for "slip" but not for "lip" or "box") or whether it can occur anywhere within the word ("lip" and "box" would both match "slipbox").
  3. Choosing the "ignore case" option ignores differences in upper- and lowercase. Otherwise the search is case-sensitive.

The list below the search field displays all slips that contain the (partial) keywords. A single click changes the current slip and shows the text and the source of this slip in the field in the bottom half. A double click changes to the Slip View, where this slip is displayed in full and can be edited.

The left column indicates whether a slip is flagged, and clicking on a cell toggles the flagged status.

The information at the bottom of the window ("0/2" in the picture) indicates how many search results were returned (2) and which result is currently selected (0).

Double-clicking a keyword in the Keywords Drawer adds the keyword to the search. An option in the Keywords Drawer allows to change this behaviour to starting a completely new search on a double-click, replacing the old keyword(s).

The Search View also provides searches for the source and the text field instead of the keywords. Click on the magnifying glass and select "Source" or "Full text". Full text searches only start after <return> is pressed and do not allow a prefix-search.
