Slip

A slip consists of:

  1. text,
  2. keywords,
  3. source,
  4. type of the source.

The keywords are used for searching the box, so put some thought into how to describe a slip, but don't deliberately create a keyword ontology (you can, but it goes against the fundamental idea of slip-boxes). The source field describes the source of the information and the type field the type of the source. Both make it easier to go back to the source of the information. Relations between slips in one box are established via information scents.

A useful thing to keep in mind when working with SlipBox is that there is always a current slip. This is the slip that is currently displayed in the slip view. It is the target of most actions and is the only slip that can be changed (until a new current slip is selected). It is also the default starting point for associative searches, in particular for following slip scents.

Additionally, there is the information notion of a slip title. A slip title is the first line of the slip's text. It can be used for searches and can be displayed in a separate column in the search view.
