SlipBox provides an interface to Spotlight. There are two ways to use Spotlight.
Firstly, SlipBox can generate index (or, cache) files that contain information about a slip, which are searched by Spotlight. The index files contain the information stored on the slips. This means that references to individual slips are shown in Spotlight searches. Spotlight displays the first line of the slip as the title of the document.* Double clicking on the line in the Spotlight window will display the corresponding slip in SlipBox.
Secondly, the function "Search/Find Related Documents in Spotlight " initiates a search for related documents. More precisely, it takes the content of the Keywords field of the current slip, removes the commas (to fit Spotlight's syntax) and sends this string to the Spotlight engine. The results are displayed in a new Spotlight window.
*Hint: A title in SlipBox is the first line of a slip, ie the slip text up to the first return. Titles do not have a field of their own like keywords or the source.
