About

My name is Markus Guhe and I am a shakuhachi teacher and performer with a shihan (teaching license) from the KSK (Kokusai Shakuhachi Kenshukan – 国際尺八研修館; see here for KSK Europe) and a senior member of the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers, Europe’s only fully professional taiko touring group.

Having won the first KSK Europe scholarship, I am in Japan for three months (July to September 2017), studying with my shakuhachi teacher Kaoru Kakizakai sensei. This seemed a good point to start a blog about my journey into taiko and shakuhachi. While I equally love shakuhachi and taiko, I am very much interested in combining the two, and this is a main aspects of this blog.

My homepage is here, where you can also sign up to a mailing list with occasional news about my activities.
